We launched it for the first time three years ago, almost as an experiment. We wanted to bring the excitement of wine to a different format, closer, more playful. Also more educational. That's how our Wine Advent Calendar. was born.
And today, with the third edition already underway, we know it has earned its place among the most special offerings at the end of each year.
The goal remains the same: to make visible Spain's native varieties. The well-known ones, yes. But above all, those that almost never headline a label. Those that don't appear in rankings. Those that are about to disappear if no one stops it. If no one talks about them.
This year, as always, the calendar includes 24 mini bottles, one for each day from December 1 to 24. 22 of them are single-varietal from native Spanish grapes. The other two are our iconic wines: Raíces I Red and Raíces I Special White.
The selected varieties come from 15 different regions of the peninsula, forming a mosaic of authenticity, territory, and diversity.
Each wine comes accompanied by a video tasting recorded by a sommelier or wine professional. And this part excites us a lot.
In total, 24 expert voices from different countries share their knowledge and perspective. Among them, great professionals like Mariano Rodríguez, sommelier of the three-Michelin-starred Arzak***, Hannes Hooyberghs, sommelier of the restaurant Nuance*, or Femke Colenbie, from Le Julien, have wanted to join this year as godfathers and godmothers of the experience.
In these three years, 72 sommeliers have been part of the calendar, leaving their mark and helping us fulfill our purpose: to show the hidden value of Spanish wine, connecting the consumer with stories, varieties, and regions that don't always get visibility.
