This wine is made from grape varieties over 40 years old: 25% Garnacha from Calatayud and 15% Mazuela (Cariñena), Bobal (Requena), Tintorera and Graciano (Manchuela), and Mencía (Bierzo). All varieties have been aged separately in new barrels. The barrels are 60% French oak and 40% American oak, some with medium toast and others left natural to achieve greater aromatic and gustatory balance.
