Fabla #506 toca el cielo en Decanter con 95 puntos y medalla de oro

Fabla #506 reaches the sky at Decanter with 95 points and a gold medal

18/06/2026

We’re floating! Is this a dream? Pinch us!

The great thing is that, no matter what, we won’t wake up. Because it’s very real that Las Pizarras Fabla #506 2024 has scored 95 points and won a Gold Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards, one of the most demanding international wine competitions in the world.

This is an important recognition for this wine, but also for the Las Pizarras collection, whose vital goal is to express the personality of Calatayud through its villages, its high-altitude vineyards, and its soils.

And that is precisely the part that excites us the most.

This gold doesn’t just speak about a bottle; it speaks about a place. A way of looking at the vineyard. A region that doesn’t need to dress up as anything to be interesting. Calatayud has altitude, stone, contrasts, old garnachas, villages with their own identity, and an energy that doesn’t always fit into the most predictable wine maps.

Moreover, this recognition comes with a new vintage, and that is very valuable in wine. The previous vintage, Fabla #506 2023, was already included by Wine Spectator among the 100 best wines in the world, a selection that included only eight Spanish wines. Now, Fabla #506 2024 receives Decanter’s endorsement with 95 points and a Gold Medal.

Two vintages. Two major recognitions. One same idea: continuity.

And continuity, although it sounds less spectacular than a medal, is one of the hardest things to achieve in wine. Every year the climate changes, the grapes change, the land changes, and the way all that reaches the glass changes. Maintaining a recognizable personality without repeating a formula is a small exercise in precision, patience, and respect.

And that is what we celebrate the most.

That Fabla is still Fabla. That it wasn’t a stroke of luck or a planetary alignment. That there is work behind it, a reading of the territory, and a collection: Las Pizarras, which continues to grow steadily.

In fact, this recognition comes at a particularly beautiful moment for the family. In recent weeks, Jancis Robinson has awarded 18/20 points to Las Pizarras Las Lomas 2021 and 17/20 points to Las Pizarras Viña Acered 2022. Different names, different villages, different nuances. The same intention: to tell Calatayud from within.

Because Las Pizarras was not born to talk about Calatayud in general, but to approach it village by village, vineyard by vineyard, soil by soil. To show that not everything tastes the same. That altitude matters. That the slate leaves its mark. That each plot has its own way of telling things.

And then there’s another detail we love to share: Fabla #506 has a recommended retail price of €9.95 in the domestic market.

But wait, don’t rush off to the online store yet! On second thought… why not? We’ve already told you almost everything… So, fly and get it! The occasion and this wine truly deserve it.
