Discover the variety and excellence of spainish wines

Spain has the largest vineyard area in the world. More than 70 native grape varieties are grown there, many of them unknown to the general public, spread across more than 60 regions. Each with its own topography, climate, soils, and people… Our goal with Raíces is to highlight and share that richness. We do this through a selection of 19 single-varietal wines from 15 wine regions, two blends, and an annual Advent calendar edition that allows you to taste each of these offerings.

Beyond this selection of single-varietal wines, at Raíces we also have two iconic wines: Raíces 1 Red and Raíces 1 White, our coupages. Each of them is a unique blend of some of these native varieties, showcasing the best of each vintage. It’s an exceptional way to enjoy the finest of Spain’s rich winemaking heritage, year after year.

Our red coupage is made from various grape varieties sourced from vineyards over 40 years old. 25% is Garnacha from Calatayud, blended with approximately 15% of each of the following varieties: Mazuela (Cariñena), Bobal (Requena), Tintorera and Graciano (Manchuela), and Mencía (Bierzo). All the varieties are vinified and aged separately, spending 8 months in new barrels. 60% of the barrels are French oak and the remaining 40% are American oak. Some of the barrels are medium-toasted, while others are left untoasted to achieve better aromatic and flavor balance.

The varieties chosen for this coupage make this wine truly exceptional. They are Moscatel (Borja), Verdejo (Cigales), Garnacha Blanca (Terra Alta), and Godello (Castilla y León). All the grapes come from vineyards over 40 years old. In our white coupage, the grapes are vinified separately and aged for 8 months in new French oak barrels. Finally, they are skillfully blended to create this cuvée, which rivals the finest white wines.
